The Random Acts of Kindness Cookbook

Have you been wondering how you can add to this world in a way that is not political, dogmatic or otherwise less than satisfying? Have you ever seen the bumper sticker "practice random acts of kindness "? Well, we have, and we tried it out. Wow, it is wonderful. So, we thought it would be nice to create a page for people to share these experiences, get new ideas for Random Acts of Kindness, and spread a little cheer throughout CyberSpace. Oh, one more thing, we have found our Random Acts of Kindness to be more potent when performed anonymously.

The Toll Booth Gift

When crossing a toll bridge or entering a toll road, pay the fare for the vehicle behind you.

"When I lived in the bay area, I had lots of opportunities to practice this one. I loved to watch in my rear-view mirror as the person in the next car pulled up and had a pleasant albeit confusing conversation with the toll booth operator. What fun!"

The Houseless Person Gift

When encountering a person with no place to stay and no food to eat, go buy some groceries and just give them to the person.

Babaji always says "Eat first, pray later."

A Gift of Appreciation

Instead of saying "thank you", express your thanks by telling him/her exactly what the thanks are for and specifically how you felt and what it meant to you.

"It's amazing how little people realize how our actions can affect others. It's so gratifying to learn exactly how I have helped another person."

Do you have a Random Act of Kindness that you would like to share with the world? Please drop us a note. We may add your Act to the list. Include a description of your Act of Kindness, and a quote relating to the experience of your Random Act of Kindness. We reserve the right to edit submissions, as necessary.
